AKA: daikon, giant white radish, Japanese radish, oriental radish. Raphanus sativus.
Heirloom, Cool season annual. One of the most popular varieties used in pickling. The mildly flavored, crisp, white roots have green necks and grow 10-14″ long and 3-4″ in diameter. 60 days.
Sow seeds in late summer/early fall in a warm, sunny location. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil-keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed.
