Description
‘Chilihuacle’ means ‘the ancient chili pepper’ and was already known to and used by the Aztecs. Dark chocolate brown hot pepper with rich spicy flesh has a unique taste, that of sweet dried fruit with a hint of chocolate and tobacco. The dried pepper is a key ingredient in the classic ‘mole negro’ sauce from Oaxaca, Mexico.
Sow seeds indoors ¼” deep. Peppers germinate best in warm soil, so gentle bottom heat may be helpful until seedlings emerge. Wait to transplant outdoors until the soil is warm.
