Heirloom, Fire-and-Ice Plant, Litchi Tomato, Morelle de Balbis, Sticky Nightshade
The latest cultivar of large growth and luxuriance up to 2m in height. The fruit is on average about 3 cm. The sweetest type of lychee. Their flavor supposedly resembles tart cherries, with a tiny hint of tomato.
Sow seeds indoors about 6 to 8 weeks before the last spring frost. Thin to a single seedling per pot, and transplant them outdoors once the risk of frost has passed. Plant them about 2 to 2 1/2 feet apart, allowing them plenty of room to grow. Seeds are slow to germinate and seedlings grow slowly at first.
