A superb, early maturing climber. Produce bean for many weeks, stringless, 25cm long, dark purple turns green when cooked.  The immature pods are eaten whole, semi-mature pods are shelled and the beans inside eaten, mature pods can also be shelled and the beans eaten fresh or dried and stored like kidney beans. Climbing varieties can reach up to 2.5m in height and are best grown-up canes.


Pole beans need the support of a trellis at least 6′ high.  It can be a fence, strings, a net, pole tipis.  If using a pole, plant 4-6 beans around the leg of each pole, About every 4″ down the row.
