Annual Herb and Spice, ferny foliage added fresh or dried to dips, salads, soups and sauces. Also used to flavor peas and potatoes. Seeds commonly used in pickling, as an ingredient in potato salad or coleslaw recipes, and medicinally they treat flatulence. Suitable for ornamental use and cut flowers.

Sow seeds indoors in cell packs or flats, 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Press into soil and lightly cover. Kept at 60-65°F, germination is in 14-21 days. Transplant dill seedlings 12 in. apart. Can direct sow dill seed into prepared seedbeds ¼ in. deep, in rows spaced 18 in. apart.
