Red Welsh onion, Red Winter onion
A strong onion flavor, it can be used in salads, as a cooked vegetable or as a flavoring in cooked foods. A very hardy species, it is related to the cultivated onion. The fast-growing type ( of a medicinal onion ) from germination to harvest, takes about a month. It reaches 30-60 cm and also reaps when it reaches 15-25 cm.
Seeds are sown in pots throughout the year at about 1cm or placed directly from February. It does not tolerate high temperatures.
