Giant Sequoia, Big Tree
Conical evergreen conifer, fast growing, reaches 90-120m in height and up to 12m in diameter, the color of the tree is reddish. The bark of the tree alone reaches a thickness of over 1m, with a long lifespan. It has modest requirements and resistance, but it grows best in mountainous regions and near rivers as well as at higher altitudes because it likes moisture. The largest living sequoia specimen is “General Sherman” in America’s “Sequoia National Park”. The sequoia is between 2,500 and 3,000 years old, the diameter of the tree is greater than 31 meters, and it is 83 meters high.

Propagation: By seed, division, cuttings
Pre-treatment : NO
Stratification: 30-90 days in a moist substrate (sand, perlite) at a temperature of 2-5 C in the refrigerator
Sowing: Throughout the year, in purchased soil or a mix of substrate and perlite or sand, at a depth of about 0.5 cm.
Germination: Temperature above 18 C
Location: Requires moderate humidity and shade.
Care: Even if it is kept in a pot, after the first year it is transplanted outside to a permanent place.
