Description

Larix dahurica

Larix gmelinii is a species from Siberia and adjacent to northeastern Mongolia, northeastern China, and North Korea. Deciduous coniferous tree, growing to 25–30 meters tall.
The timber is used for construction, poles, vehicles, pit props, railway sleepers, and wood fiber. The trunk is used for producing resin and the bark for tanning. The species is also cultivated for afforestation and as an ornamental. The resin has a wide range of uses including wood preservatives, medicinal, etc.

Propagation: By seeds/cuttings

Pre-treatment: Cover the seeds with warm water, then squeeze and mix with wet sand or / vermiculite/perlite, place in a zip-lock bag, then place the bag with the seeds for 1 month. in the refrigerator after that period sow the seeds.

Sowing: Throughout the year in substrate or perlite at a depth of 0.5-1 cm

Germination: Temperature 25-30 C, germinates in 2-9 months

Location: Requires direct light and moderate humidity.
