Although it is often called a palm tree, it is not. It originates from the southern regions of America and Mexico. It grows extremely slowly. In colder zones it is kept as a houseplant – during the spring – in the autumn it can be stored outside, tolerated – 6 °C. It is watered very rarely.


Sow the seeds in the substrate, 0.5-1 cm deep, maintain moderate soil moisture and a temperature above 20 C. Sprout in 1-3 months.
