Description
Siberian lemon,
A deciduous, slow-growing, small tree to about 8 m tall with spiny, green branches, white, scented flowers in spring, and highly decorative, yellow, lemon-like fruit in autumn. The fragrant fruits are edible and have a resiny flavor that makes them a good choice for marmalade and lemonade rather than enjoying raw. By far the hardiest Citrus, reportedly suitable to temperate climates as low as USDA Zone 5.
Sowing: Scarification: Soak in water, and let stand in water for 24 hours.
Stratification: Cold stratify for 30 days.
Germination: Sow seed 1/4″ deep, tamp the soil, and mulch the seed bed.
