Description
Biennial plant, during the first year, only a ground rosette develops, and in the second year, a 1.5-2 m tall, upright, unbranched stem densely covered with hairs grows. The leaves are also covered with hairs on both sides. On the upper part of the stem, there are yellow flowers gathered in an elongated raceme inflorescence. The plant blooms all summer. Habitat. It grows on sunny rocky hills and on rocky soil. Usable parts of the plant. For medicine, flowers and leaves are collected at the time of flowering. Chemical composition. Contains mucus, saponins, sugar, coumarin, beta-carotene, flavonoids, and essential oil. Use. Divizma is used against coughs, colds, hoarseness, sweating, and rheumatism. It is very good for lung diseases, colic, liver disease, spleen, and cough. Externally, it is good for massage against rheumatism and against hemorrhoids.
Sowing: Indoors from December to March at a temperature above 18°C, sow the seeds in containers at a maximum depth of 0.3 cm – sprinkled with a light substrate. Cover with nylon or a transparent cover, and remove it when the seeds germinate. Water moderately as long as there is moisture for germination. Transplant the plants outdoors when the danger of frost has passed.
