Lavandula angustifolia / Ellagance Pink

Bred for large-scale, first-year flowering pot production with maximum yield, the well-branched plants fill pots quickly and finish with large, dense flower spikes and very strong stems. The spreading and upright plants have rich gray-green foliage. Elegance stands out from other seed and vegetative lavenders for its excellent uniformity, color range, earliness, and spike quality. Winter hardy and cold tolerant with good tolerance to foliar diseases compared to other lavenders. Elegance ships well, and is long-flowering in perennial beds and patio planters.

Sow indoors Feb-Apr or Aug-Oct. Surface sow onto moist well-drained seed compost. Just cover the seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 15-20°C. Germination takes 2 weeks approx. but can be erratic and take up to 90 days.  If germination has not occurred after 4 weeks you could try cold stratification. Move to -4°C-+4°C. for 4-6 weeks then return to warmth. After germination grows on in cooler temp. of 15°C. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle 8cm pots. Acclimatize and plant out when the danger of frost has passed with 45cm spacing.
