Description
A productive selection for cutting. Erect stems carry flower umbels that look like mini Ammi majus. A long-lasting flower, a sweet-scented mixture of lavender blue, white, pink, and rose. 70cm. Creates a wonderfully soft and gentle effect in the garden and in bouquets.
Sow directly where they are to flower from Apr-May. Sow thinly 1mm deep in drills spaced 30cm apart into rich well-prepared soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Lightly cover with soil. Water. Germination 21 days at temps above 20°C. When large enough to handle thin to 20-30cm spacing. Can be sown indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Sow into seed trays filled with seed compost. Only cover lightly with soil. Require darkness to germinate. Cover, water only from the base. temp. 18-20°C. Germination takes 15-20 days. Transplant when large enough to handle. Grow on in small pots. Acclimatize and plant out after the danger of frost has passed. Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and prolong the flowering.
