Description
Fragrant blooms in Striking deep purple, almost black flowers edged with white. These aren’t commonly used for cuts, being 12-15″ tall, but they are certainly beautiful in the garden, and if small table bouquets are your thing, these may be a perfect fit. Annual, flowers the first year.
Sow indoors on the surface of moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover the seed with compost. Keep at 21°C. Germination takes 7-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots. Grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatize and plant out after danger of frost has passed with 30 cm spacing. Prefers a rich, light, well-drained soil with full sun. Does not tolerate wet soil in winter. Deadhead to extend flowering and to maintain plant vigor.
